Gateway Bridge (Brisbane)

The Gateway Bridge is the name of the original bridge  spanning the Brisbane river at Murarrie, but when the second bridge was built (M<ay 2010) both bridges are actually now called the Leo Hielscher Bridges.

The bridges provide a majestic site (particular on sunrise and sunset) and can be viewed forma  variety of different angles and locations.  I’ve not yet tried it, but think it could form an unusual backdrop for portrait shots too.

Queensport Rocks Park is located directly under the bridge on the southern side of the Brisbane river.

How to get there:

There is a car park very close to Queensport Rocks Park, but it is a little tricky to get to.  You need to turn left into Administration Rd from Lytton Rd, JUST before you  the turnoff to go North over the Gateway Bridge.  You can also go to Metroplex avenue and park as close to the river as possible… or  for views op0f the bridge form the top (or to actually walk over the bridge), park on Lytton Rd and walk a short distance back to the walking/cycle path over the eastern bridge.
