The Hervey Bay Esplanade runs for over 14km from the Urangan harbour (and Great Sandy Straits Marina) in the east to Point Vernon and Gatakers Bay in the west.
There are walking and cycle tracks along most of the coastline and photo opportunities include beaches, ocean views, parks, playgrounds, botanic gardens, piers, bird/marine life and plenty of people.
Some notable spots are the Urangan Pier (which extends over 800 meters into the sea),Great Sandy Straits Marina, and Point Vernon
Tips
On Sunday nights (from dark until late) you will often find Fire Twirlers practicing and performing – they change their location to “protect” the grass, so go for a drive/cycle/walk to find them.
