Newfarm Park is one of Brisbane’s most famous and well used parks… It is a large area of gardens and parklands bordering the Brisbane River at Newfarm.
The park has large open areas, well established gardens (and is famous for it’s roses), kids playing areas, barbecue and picnic facilities and is a popular picnic spot for families and all sorts of social groups.
The park has some good views back to the city and on the right night can provide some spectacular sunset shots.
The park is often used for various events and activities (the western part has football/cricket ovals), and is often teeming with people coming and going – a great place for people watching and photography.
It is a popular place for professional photographers to take wedding photos and family/portrait shoots as well.
The park is adjacent to the Brisbane Powerhouse… which is lit up at night and provides a wide variety of photo opportunities.
How to get there:
From the valley drive straight down Brunswick until you hit the water .. Newfarm Park is on the left, and has a large ring road with plenty of parking (gates open until 11:30 every night).
You can also arrive by Ferry, there is a city cat terminal right in the park.
