Tygum Lagoon a recreation and wildlife reserve approximately 40 minutes drive south of the Brisbane CBD.
The lagoon itself is 8.7 hectares of shallow open water lake surrounded by a grass-sedge wetland and is crawling with an extensive variety of birds and wildlife.
This spot is fabulous for wildlife photography, is easy to bet to, and doesn’t involve a great deal of walking (the walkway around the entire lagoon is virtually flat).
