Running along the top of the Cliffs to the North of the Story Bridge and overlooking the Brisbane River is a long narrow park called Wilson Outllok. It is here that most of the iconic “Story Bridge with Brisbane CBD Background” photos are taken.
There is a footpath and cycle track along a 300 meter section of clifftop. Plenty of places for photos of the bridge, but worth getting there early and scoping the whole area to see which location/angle suits you best.
How to get there:
From Brunswick St, turn up Martin St and if you are going to go south on the Story Bridge, but turn left into Bowen terrace immediately before the bridge,. This is a one way system and there are quiet a few parking spaces along it.
Best time:
I prefer this spot for sunset and night shots, but also pretty good early morning (sunrise) and has some spectacular panoramic views og the bridge any time of day.
This is probably the ultimate place for watching Fireworks where the Story Bridge is featured – but it will be VERY busy so arrive early to secure a spot
Genres for this location:
Great for Cityscapes and night photography shots
Suggested Equipment:
Definitely need a Tripod for night shots and I’d also suggest a wide angle (or ultra wide angle) to get the whole view
Tips:
Can get some spectacular sunsets over the city here, but need to be at the right place at the right time.
